Mrs Giggles Likes me -it must be Christmas!

Mrs Giggles, bless her, is known for her harsh but fair reviews of erotic romance books, so I was very surprised indeed when my good friend pointed this out to me:

Not only does "Proving Santa Exists" get an 83 and a good review, it get's onto the front page of her book reviews too! I think it looks good in spotlight, don't you? ;)

This is my favourite part of the review, as I peide myself on my believeable characters:

"The characters in the story are normal, which is to say they are not neurotic, crazy, angst-ridden, undercover, vampiric, or liable to turning into hairy creatures when the moon is full. Instead, this is a story of likeable people that I can meet everyday in real life in a story where the sexual situation comes naturally. There is no contrived set-up to get the main characters to have sex - the attraction and the sex here come off as a natural progression of the events that happen in the story. I like the heroine and she's a sweet character without coming off as too bizarre or stalkerish in her desire to see the hero spend Christmas with friends."

So my day has been made and it's only 6am!

To chat about this,my book and general Christmas frivolity, join me on "The Storyboard" Yahoo group tonight from 4pm-8pm EST (9pm-1am GMT) and I'll get you into the mood for Christmas

Go Go NaNo!
So, who else out there is doing the NaNoWriMo thing? If you don't know what it is, check HERE

I'm up to 23k right now and highly envious of people who've finished it already (here's looking at you Aurora)because I feel like I'm struggling this year. This is the third time i've attempted a 50k story in 30 days, and last year I finished, well, probably about now, I finished almost 2 weeks early. The first year I did I finished with about a week to spare, this yearit looks like I might be writing right up to the 30th.

It's not surprising really. Ontop of Proving Santa Exists being out now, I am writing personaslised stories for eBay and of course I have my day to day domestic Mum and wife things to do. I just wish I were more on top of it, I don't like being "Behind." my target for today is 28k, but I can't see me getting much further than 24 maybe 25k today. Oh well, I'll keep on plugging on!

Other NaNoites -keep at it, e shall prevail. Oooh, do you want an extract? here's an extract anyway ;) Be warned it's rough and unedited -so plenty of typos, don't worry it ill be edited eventually though ;)

""Snow." He cries.

"Snow." I reply, his enthusiasm contagious. He runs onto the lawn and I can hear him whooping and laughing, I run to join him, and whoomf! An impact of snow hits my coat just above my breast, showering my chin with snow drops.

"Hey." I yell, " you little bugger." I drop my shoulder and scoop up some now, packing it into my hand as another snow-shell hits my arm. "that's it." I yell, "you're in for it now."
I follow the shrieks of laughter and as I glimpse his dark coat through the snow I launch the cool sphere in it's direction and I'm rewarded by the dull thud of it making contact. "Ha, take that." I giggle, scooping up more snow and ducking as I here he whoosh of displaced air flying behind another snowball. I straighten up and lunch my own, "Ha you missed me." I hear another satisfy thud and a muffled curse.

"No more mister nice guy." He exclaims and I hear the fast paced crunching of snow as he rushes towards me, I turn to see where he is heading and whack! A rocket of snow impacts and explodes on my face, covering me in cold, cold snowflakes that tickle my skin.

"Mary, you okay?" Will is beside me, looking concerned and I laugh, pressing the handful of snow in my hand into his cheek.

"I am now." I giggle ducking and running away, laughing as he curses then guffaws. Another ball leaves my hand, but I miss him, I'm so engrossed in making a new missile that I don't hear him creep up behind me, but suddenly I feel the scarf pulled away from my neck and a flurry of icy snow hitting the hot flesh of my neck, and then flowing down as it melts in cool streams. I scream and shake. "You bastard." I cry, when my breath returns from the icy shock.

I run at him, snow in hand and grasp for his coat. He shakes and shimmies and escapes. I run at him again, grabbing him at the front this time, pulling on that expensive coat and forcing the snow in my right hand down into the space I manage to create between his neck and the material.

"Ha. sweet revenge." I giggle as he shakes and shudders. His hand shooting out and holding me by the collar. "No, no no." I try to wriggle from his grasp, but as he leans down to the ground to scoop up the snow, he pulls me with him. I keep giggling, shrieking and struggling to escape, but he's holding me fast, pulling the zip down on my mac till my chest is exposed. He smooshes a massive handful of cold whiteness into the creamy flesh there, pressing it down and squashing it against my exposed skin, taking my breath away. He hold s his hands there a it melts, the icy shock tickling ,making me giggle and gasp, but his and stays there till the mass of moistness melts completely, leaving his cold hand pressed against my warming skin. The shock of his touch so intimately pressed over my heart takes my breath away.

"I surrender." I gasp, my heart thumping.

"Well I'm not going to let you." He grins, turning to scoop up more snow.

"No." I scream and try to pull away from him, all I manage to do is overbalance, falling to the snow covered lawn, and pulling Will down on top of me. Laughing hysterically, he splutters out,

"Are you okay?"

I'm giggling too "yes, I' fine." I can feel his body heat warming me through the many layers between us and I become aware of my breath, coming out in short pants.

"You've got bit of snow just here…" he barely whispers the words as his fingers brush gently against my cheek. They're cold but they heat me up, slowly at first, the flames licking down his fingers my cheek and my neck to suffuse my chest. The fingers trace a light pattern, softly stroking as our eyes lock. I'm lost in the depths of those treackly orbs. I want to lean up and press my lips to his…

Am I dreaming? His lips are pressed against mine. My eyes are closed and my hands are wrapped around his neck. His lips are cold, but then so are mine but as we gently undulate them, the heat flows through from the points here we are joined to suffuse our lips, mouths, hearts and whole bodies with a burning urge, a fiery need.

The kiss is not satisfied to just be small and tight-lipped. It compels me to press my lips harder to his, to move them apart and slide and slip all over the surface of his. His lips are soft and supple and giving. He's kissing me as strongly as I am kissing him, his hand gently cupping my face. The snow below me is cold, so cold bu tit's such a delicious contrast to the heat of his body on mine. he pulls his lips from me.

"We should go inside." He gasps. "before you catch pneumonia."

"Yes." I pant, "yes, sure. Inside." H slips his body of me and holds out a hand to help me up. I spring into his arms and he wraps me in a tight embrace as our lips fond each other again and continue the crazed kiss of moments ago. Snow is falling, every sound is muted and all I can hear is the gasping of our breathing and the slapping of our lips against each other. " -->
